duplicolor paint shop.... anyone ever use it?

Nah I'm not going to do that.... once I have some extra cash his summer I'm going to buy a brand new set and stash them away

Actually I would trade someone for just as good of condition black plastics as mine then I would just get it vinyled orange stripes

The duplicolor paint shop is ready to spray. No need to thin. I did 3 coats be carefully not to lay it on heavy to prevent runs. I then applied 4 coats clear. Also used a plastic adhesion promoter before paint. Realy easy stuff just don't rush it you can recoat in 20 minutes I waited 24 hrs between color and clear. Ran about 25-30psi and wear a respirator .

Did you wet sand it between coats and after clear coat then buff it?

No the first time I painted the scoop I did get a run and had to wet sand they recomend 24hrs between spray and sand. But for the most part it shrunk up and had no flaws or orange peel . I just waxed after a week dry time and they shine also they match the plastic perfect.

Also make sure there are no blemishes any little scratch shows though. After I sprayed the scoops I thought I had sanded the texture out enuf. They looked great after I sprayed but when they cured fully the paint shrunk and showed a little texture so I had to wet sand and repaint.

OK sounds like a plan.... I think I'm gonna give this a shot.... doing black I bet was a mofo I'm doing orange so hopefully not as bad.....

Clean with wax remover before you prime or paint!!! If not you will get ugly dish eyes. Hope I'm not forgetting anything.[smirk]nah I think that about covers it.
