Sounds good! You can do like we were doing before my accident and go on mapquest pick out some roads then go ride them each weekend there is a new person in rotation to pick out where we are riding all the roads out towards winchester are amazing. I will hold up the back of the pack this year no wrecks for me.

Yeah we can do that, but I also want to recon the roads as well, so we don't get any hidden surprises while on the bikes.

That's why I'm saying go ride it after you find it on mapquest I'm making a gps mount also for the stem nut so I can bring gps with me on rides for mph and gas stations and 160 mph top speed pulls

From what I see on mpaquest it looks like we can skirt the potomac river quite a bit out towards leesburg? MP09 you're in meade right?

Nah, reserves, live in arlington va.. But I'm at meade a lot. Or I will be once I get back from this deployment. Did I mention kanadhar air field sucks. Anyways I can meet u around meade area and then from there ride to meet everyone else. Also let me know what route ur looking at as I'll preplan a route for everything with stops and so on if that's what everyonewants?

Actually it's easier/quicker for me to swing around southeast/southwest DC to arlington than it is to go up to meade. ok so it seems like VA around the NW border of DC would be a good meet up. MP yea I'm down to swing through arlington and link up. Maybe around where 495 and Leesburg Pike meet up? find some good roads along the potomac from there?

Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren County are a good place to ride. Not a lot of traffic. If you are going to run from 495 up 7 towards Leesburgh the traffic stinks. Go 66 west Haymarket to 55 west towards Front Royal. Or even better 66 west to 29 south to Warrenton to 211 west to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

I'd be the only one heading up 495. and thatd only be to arlington to link up with MP and head to the meet up. And honestly i'd risk the suitland parkway and 295/395 at that point. Early on a Saturday morning shouldn't be bad. I worked in Clarendon and it would only take me 20 minutes to get to work on a saturday.

Well we need to figure out if we want to ride the mountains and west towards the blue ridge or ride north west along the Potomac river then hook down towards bolt's house for a bbq if his offer still stands. I'll be glad to plot a route either way, but trying to make sure the route is awesome and everyone has their input into it. I've found some great farmland country roads that ride along the potomac river before but I'd have to re plot the routes again, the ran from dc north west along the river to near point of rocks, MD. Then back down to leesburg where bolt lives. It'd only be half a day ride, but we can use that for a am route then stop for lunch then go to the mountains in the afternoon. If everyone likes that idea?

That would work if we're gonna do a BBQ, that would leave me another half days ride back [up] how many miles? i'm down for mountains or river which ever will have the least traffic

Well if we do the bbq maybe 100 miles or so on the backroads, if we don't then we can do 300ish. I know in july as hot as it will be 300 will start to suck at the end of the day if we don't stop and relax for a bit. Plus always hanging out with buellers and bbqing is a great time so we could do it that way. I like the mourning river ride, then mountains, then. A mid afternoon bbq, then ride back at dusk?

I'm almost home less then 2 weeks and I'll be plotting the route. Been looking at a few roads on maps and have some good ideas in mind. This ride should be fun. Just want to get home and finish planning this.

I fell you man, My buddy just got out to kandahar the other day. I hope they **** that **** down this year as well.

Its about time it seems like forever ago that you told me you were gonna be heading back to the states. I bet you can't wait to get back and start living normal again we should hit the shooting range when you get back so I can see how your skills are doing lol

My skills are lacking in the handgun department, I carry one yes as a MP, but my m4 is my primary weapon. We'llk go I got ammo to burn when I come home. Long as the government stops taking away half my paycheck every 2 weeks.

Meh... we should get some ar's so shooting at the range is more fun Bert and Dan have like 3 a piece its fun going with them because they have like a million guns. Next gun purchase I make will be a 12 gauge probably in a few years
