I am comparing my 2005 XB12R with Ferris' 2008 XB12R on the same trip together so the speeds and conditions are pretty much the same. The trip was 160+ miles. My bike has the scoop. On the occasions we stopped, either at a traffic light, stop sign, for food, for fuel.... OK ... you get the idea ... My fan did not run or ran for a noticeable amount of time shorter than his. This happened on every occasion. I notice no negative effects so far. Installation took about 10 minutes. Looks cool and work!!!!

How much did you spend and what model do you have?

Just curious, I want to get one but they seem a bit expensive.

What was the price?

That was my only problem when it came to the price for a single scoop.

I have the low profile scoops from Trojan Horse, and also noticed a cooler bike, but I payed $160 for 2 scoops. I did have to paint them but that was nothing major. I guess it comes to preference in the end.

Got the one from American Sport Bikes.. It was about $250.00.... A bit pricey.....but.... It works and it looks cool.... It's not just bling....

Well BadDad. You have to understand that the 08s have a different ECM with much longer fan runtime. Your fan will run for 3 minutes, and his will run for 10. The right side scoops are cool though and I do want one. One of the best things about them is they will protect the frame in a lowside.

I did not know that dave.... Interesting info.... Here I thought I was comparing apples to apples and someone throws a different ECM into the mix..... Oh Well...

BadDad should of went with the much cooler low profile scoops and one up your boy. IMO that is.
