Earplug Headphones?

Thanks for everyones replies I def have a lot of headphones to try out.

Im going to start with the diy and go from there.

I have a set of the Bose earbuds and also a set of Shure 215's and hands down the 215's are the way to go. I have custom made ear plugs for work as I have to wear them 8 hours a day and the Shure 215's cut almost as much noise as my custom plugs. I used to plug my Bose earbuds into my iphone while I rode and I would have to turn it almost all the way up to block the noise of the bike and the wind. With the Shure's I have my volume at around half and the music is clear, and I don't hear the drone my helmet creates from the bike. You also get just enough traffic noise that you aren't completely out of touch with what's going on around you. Best of both worlds solution. Only downside, entry level Shure's are going to run you $100 and up.
