So after all my mods this summer I was cruising and felt as I had some more power. I do throw up a wheelie now and again but have never been able to pull the bike up in 3rd just using the throttle, that was until this weekend.

I just don't understand because as far as the engine is conserned all I did was switch to full synthetic oil, put in iridium plugs, breather re-route, and although not to the engine a new belt.

Can anyone explain this??? I understand I did do some improvments but nothing I figured would gain me any real power.

I was thinking with all the extras and plus the primary reason a new belt which may have just stightly less stretch equaling a little more torque in a way thus the extra lift????

the new belt will have more tension and is stronger, so that will definitely have an influence.

also, the breather-reroute will get rid af the dip round 2000rpm which will give you more pull.

it's not more hp, it's just a question getting the torque through to the rear wheel.

Yeah I knew I didn't really have any more HP but like you said getting the power down has great impact. Well I guess more umph when not expected is pretty damn nice.

Why is it that the breather has such an impact for such a simple mod? I know the air is cleaner without it but still. My only thought is there isn't much air getting pulled in so the little air going through the breather hoses is heavily weighing down what little air is there? Correct?

the air is not only cleaner and 100% burnable, it is also colder, which means much more compact (hot air expands).
