Hi Guys,
I like a few others on here have been experiencing a drop in power in the 3000 -4500 rpm range. The problem doesnt always consist of that exactly 1500 rpms in between but this is the range i noticed i was having the most problems.
Here is the email I wrote:
Hello,
I purchased a EBR ECM recently for my 2008 Buell xb12r. I am
currently very satisfied with the performance however I do have a
question or two.
I am currently using a Special Ops exhaust, Open Airbox kit from ASB,
and a K&N air high flow air filter.
My question is when accelerating through the 3000- 4500 rpm range I
experience a loss of power almost as if the engine is being starved of
fuel. Is it possible that the addition of the open air box has caused
my bike to run lean through that rpm range?
Is there anything I can do to combat this or will i be required to
purchase the software key and make changes to the bikes air fuel
ratios?
As always I really appreciate any help that you can provide and your
products and service are top notch.
Have a great day and thank you for your support.

Here is their response:
Nick,
Yes, it is just an area that is a little off in the map for your setup. We
are actually working on a calibration refinement for the Special Ops pipe
with open airbox currently. You can send your ECM back for a re-flash when
we get it done. Cost will be $25 plus $10 shipping and handling.
Thank you,

Needless to say I am psyched, I mean the price tag i guess is ok, i did pay 250 for the ecm but if it fixes the issue then I have no problem. I asked that I be put on a list to be notified when these modifications are made.
I hope this helps someone else.
