I didn't notice a huge improvement with my EBR ECM, but my stock ECM actually ran pretty good. I bought the race ECM because I was installing a full system exhaust.
The before dyno showed the bike running quite a bit rich surprisingly, and the thing put down 132+ hp and dammit, with $1600 of FMF exhaust and EBR ECM it put down...132 hp, with a bit less midrange. WTF? The fuel mix was much closer to optimal and my economy has been better (34 mpg before, 38 after), but probably largely because I hesitate to rev the snot out of it in town because of all the noise. The other thing that has me wondering is there is no AFR adjustment going on. It is just 100F/100R all the time.
I imagine I might get better dyno numbers on a colder day. It was 50 degrees out and my AFR's had corrected for this during the ride to the shop for the base run, explaining the rich condition in the dyno room. It was over 70 degrees the day I did the after run, although if the thing isn't correcting, it wouldn't matter.
As far as the low speed fueling goes, mine wasn't bad before, but I would say there has been a small improvement. But unfortunately, I still get a small hesitation getting on the throttle off idle, although not as bad as before, that requires careful clutch slippage when leaned over or just waiting until upright before getting on it, lest the rear step out on me when the power comes in causing bad things...
So for all those who carry on about the perfect fueling, I say bullshit. Or at least, I got a bad tune...
IDK, it is a bit frustrating, but the exhaust looks sweet, sounds beyond badass, drops close to 20 pounds in weight, and was a complete PITA to install, so I will stick with it until the Popo insist otherwise.
