Hello, new member here.

I've been working on my XB9s with the AFV setting.

I cant reset the parameter back 100%. It is at/was 115%. I replaced the intake seals and wanted to reset the AFV to
see if that worked. But when i disconnect ECMdroid and reconnect, its back to where it was.

I able to do tests and tps reset.

Little help ?!

Hi, first in the options you have to 'enable eprom burning' and after changing the AFV you have to tap on 'apply changes'

Or do nothing at all.

The ECM will not only adjust itself rapidly to whatever AFV it needs depending on the conditions of the type of riding you do, where you ride it, and even the condition of the bike. It will adjust to exactly what it needs to run correctly, and give you the added benefit of a clue if something is wrong.

IMO, 115 AFV isn't far enough off of the middle of the adjustment range (100), to warrant any repairs.

Thanks for the replys.
i thought "eprom burning" was for changing fuel values/mapping, but ok i'll try that.

I had replaced the intakes seals, cause when i used carb spray, the revs dropped about 200rpm.. not terrible but something. And Rev-Motos' site indicated anything
+/- 3% was a concern...
It actually ran pretty well before, just a little jerky at parking lot speed. Runs about the same now.
I'll go for run and see if the Ecm adjusts.

The guys at Rev-Mo have opinions. Cooter, et al, are trusted Buell owners and I tend to agree.

I was new to Buell's and got stuck in a long, drawn out troubleshooting nightmare when attempting to find a problem that "Rev-Mo" said I had. I gave up since I didn't have any intake leaks, nor were there any other obvious issues.

Thanks for the kind words KZ:angel:

Internet diagnostics with typically limited info is a matter of educated guesses and experience. The board member that likes to point out I've been wrong before, is in fact, correct:black_eyed: and will be wrong again, lol.

The new clue the OP gave (black plugs) would lead me to believe the O2 is saturated as well, but heck thats a guess too because they still haven't even given the year... mileage... mods... known repair history... attempted fixes....

(Sigh) See why it's a guessing game??

Hi, it wasnt me that mentioned black plugs. Mine have white electrodes and the back one does show as lean.
In case you wanna toss another educdated guess my way the bike is: 2004 xb9s, with 31000km. I have a drummer exhaust, race ecm, de snorkled, with the K&N air filter... pretty standard mods.
I'm the org. owner.
Its been a great bike.

My bad, I was replying to another thread with no info either:)
If it runs well, I still don't think 115 AFV is a problem worth spending money or time on. Seems like it keeps adjusting back to that when you mess with it, so it wants to be there.

Heck, you wouldn't even know unless you were looking, right? Seems like a good ride. I'd ride it. Want to spend some quality garage time with your Buell? Time to flush the brake fluid? Wheel bearings? Brake pads? Flush the fork oil? Lots of quality things to do instead of looking for tuning problems:angel:

Sir: Your "Race Only ECM" will self-adjust parameters over the course of 3 back-to-back easily ridden 20 mile excursions....aka "riding in learn mode". From that point, if it performs satisfactorily and has consistent and acceptable throttle response in all conditions....but a 115 AFV value....then that value almost always associated with a leak or crack somewhere in the exhaust system. Start at each exhaust port and check your entire system closely, especially for cracks around the rear header tube O2 bung.
