ecmspy cable issues-tecky issue

So I got my cable in today from xopti, go to hook it up to the computer, says the driver needs to be installed, okay no problem. Unplug the usb end of the cable, install the driver, reconnect the usb end of the cable and now instead of the usual sound you get when plugging one in, I get three dings in quick succession from my computer.

So, for some reason, the cable isn't working with my computer. I tried it on my laptop with windows 7 and my other laptop with XP, and both are doing the same thing.

I plugged other usb devices in and they work fine, so it's either the cable/my stupid bike.

The bike starts and idles just fine, but since it has a stock ecm and I have intake and exhaust done, it runs out of gas when under any kind of load.

So, since I'm not tech savvy...t all...anyone have any suggestions? want to offer help? If at all possible, I'd like to try and work this out over the phone. PM me if you can help and are willing to talk about it. Thanks,

Have you restarted your computer after the install? Also with windows 7 you may want to run it under compatibility mode XP.

Yeah, I restarted the computer. Both, in fact. Also, I have Windows 7 starter. Don't know If that matters. But its acting the same way with xp.
