is the Direct Link (VDST software) cable compatible with ECM spy? if so, are their any specific steps to connect with bike ECM? Its hooked up (04XB12R) but getting a 'failed to connect" message.

Also, can ECMspy be used with EBR race ECM? No, don't want to modify fuel maps, BUT do need to change AFV (VDST says its at 143! can't modify with that software, only view settings). Bike is running rich, fouling plugs (after doing numerous TPS resets, new plugs and wires).

Thanks for all your help!

Not really sure if the cable is compatible but I don't see why it wouldn't be. For the AFV just use ecmspy and reset back to 100. Make sure you did the TPS reset right and that the butterfly isn't catching. This can cause the bike to run bad.

yup, thats why I'm trying to get ECMspy going, so I can change the AFV. I know there is other software I need to download along with ECMspy in order for it to work properly. Does anyone have a checklist?

I figured ECMspy, along with a cable that works, would be like plug and play. Will it automaticly detect a connection with my bike or is their some settings that need to be configured with ECMspy in order for it to communicate?

Everything you need for ecmspy can be found here.

You just need to get the driver. Once you get it installed restart your computer and it should work just fine. What OS are you using?

As you asked in CBi's thread...yes I was referring to the O2 sensor. 143 sounds way to high for the bike to even run.

not in socal anymore. used to be in sand diego / IB, but living in nw florida now. no plce to ride here

...except the track, but not much time these days for that
