I have a 2003 xb9r. I did the open air box conversion, drummer exhaust, and race ECM. The seller of the ECM said that it was set up for that setup, so there shouldn't be any problems. Now I just need to reset the tps(rpms drop really low when letting off the throttle...nearly dies). Would someone be able to help me troubleshoot? I have the cable and the cd that says buell files, but I can't get the program to load onto my laptop. It says it's installing, but then nothing happens. Your help would be extremely appreciated.

ecmspy

That is a dropbox link to the ecmspy program I installed to my laptop, try downloading it from there and installing it.

Also, couldn't you just adjust the idle without doing a tps reset? Not that there is anything wrong with doing it, just curious.

Thank you. I will definitely check that out. And I'm sure I could, but I'm a newb at that and it would probably be best if I did it via a more accurate method.

lol.... Seems I spoke too soon. The program loaded up and works great. However, I connected everything and was following Dearringer's DIY video(thank you for posting the videos, by the way @ Dearringer), but my ecmspy wouldn't response to the throttle. The cable was connected properly and connected to my usb port. I followed a varitey of confusing instructions that came on the disc and downloaded some drivers. Even when it said the the COM port was good there wasn't any response to blipping my throttle. This is getting aggravating.

Turn key on turn run button on ;open ecmspy go to the key symbol tap it then go to the word overview tap that ;gauges should display numbers. When you turn the throttle the numbers should go up and down ; If not the com port is not communicating with ecm .

Hello - another newbie here . I'm interested in Ecmspy and tuning my 06 xb12 myself . Is the download you have here a full working version ? I have been trying for a week to find a "free" download that works - is in English , and not a demo . I haven't order the cable because I m having such a hard time finding the Ecmspy . Any advise in getting started re-mapping would greatly appreciated too .

There is a link posted on this website for a YouTube video on how to do the TPS reset. Just wish I could figure out why there isn't any communication between my bike and the program.

hi..................jdfoster02...............the link is as far as I can tell on older Version................there is a manual called the BuellTuningGuide_EN_V1.6

In case you are using a newer Version............a few questions

Which Windows Version do you have?
Which version of ECMspy do you have?
Have you installed all the com port drivers correctly?
Have you donated the money to the kids charity that the developer of the software is supporting with this project and have you obtained a release code for your ECM type

.......................to me this sounds like a com port installation problem.............

Chris
