EcmSpy is not working.

When I bought my used (600 miles) 2007 XP1200scg lightning, it ran fair, but not as well as some other test bikes I tried, so I sent for the cable last year. The cabel came with the ECMSPY on a CD as well as the Drivers.
I copied the programs on my old Dell Lap top ( XP, no internet connection). At that time I did not test the cable or the program.

This week the bike ran worse and I thought I would try and do a TPS reset.

I hooked it up, I get a nice over view with the gauges all the other tabs seem to work, but when I turn on the key (and run button) nothing happens. No readings. There doesn’t seem to be a connection to the bike. THE “ LOG ON TAB” HAS A RED LINE THROUGH IT. I guess that means it’s not making a connection.

I wiggled the cable, tried different USB ports, nothing.

The 4 cable connector has only 3 wires RED, BLACK, and YELLOW.

I have reprints of all the instructions as well as trouble shooting articles from this forum. I can’t find answers to this problem.

I don’t know what to do or try next?

Any suggestions?

So you're saying it doesn't connect with the motorcycle?

When you turn the bike on do you click the com port button and hit autodetect?

Then once it finds the com port you click the keys icon to connect the bike. You should get a little pop up box with a green rectancle in it.

If you're there there you are connected.

I did it!! Or should I say you did it. I watched U-tube "Emcspy" and know what you mean about the green rectangle but I could not get it to come up. I even switched ports. I followed your exact instructions and Wa-La sucess. I can't thank you enougn!!

what wires (red black and yellow) go to what leads?
picture please?

i'd like to make my cable and have 4-wire usb cables a-plenty, but not a 6-wire to be found
