I've held on to two of my old laptops hoping to use them for tuning my bike but they both took a ****.

1) My XP machine doesn't recognize any USB devices and doesn't list the COM Ports in the device manager.

2) My Vista machine needs a battery, I can't run it for more than 5-10 minutes before the battery runs out and shuts down.... so I can't datalog.

I'm willing to send the XP machine to geek squad but don't want to wait to see if they can fix it for a reasonable price before I can ride my bike.

On to my question:

Will ECMSpy and drivers work with Windows 7??????

Yes I had it on my other laptop till it took a ****. Now I'm using a dell mini that I picked up on Craigslist for $100. That has xp on it. Its small and light a tad slow for internet to my standards (I'd rather use my galaxy s2 lol) I like the laptop all I use it for is the buell has ecmspy and megalog veiwer and all the service manuals d/l onto it. I go ride log pull over and run mlv reflash and keep going. I can zip it in my coat that's how small it is. And my riding coat is tight cause I like it that way.

I got it to run on the Win 7 laptop and backed up my stock maps....

New question:

Is MegaLog viewer included with the ECMSpy download?

Damn..... Guess I have to find a way to download that tonight so I can tune tomorrow....

I downloaded megalogviewer, paid the $29.99 for the deluxe version and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I can't get the logs to display....

I don't understand what the **** I'm doing wrong. I've built and tuned carbed bikes, snowmobiles and fuel injected cars but, this **** is kicking my ass!!!!!

I decided to put the bike back in the garage and drink a **** ton of beer for the rest of the night.... I'll read the tuning guide for 10th time tomorrow.

I have a win7 as well and new to this whole thing too but what i have to do, making sure you have a working connection, I click the "data log" key in ecmspy , at the bottom of the screen it says a file name, time and log opened .then it will say log closed after "button gets unchecked".. i have to go into Computer,,then go into C: drive ,,,then program files(x86) ,,,then the ecmspy folder,,,then At the top menu bar I have to click on "compatibility files" and it brings up the "megalog" folder that has all the logs automatically saved. .Just saying how i do it . . hope you get it working

OK, I figured out how to load my logs and can view them. Unfortunately this only gives me some more questions.

In the ECMSpy tuning guide page 36 of 48 it states:

The current logfile format from ECM Spy is almost suitable for use in MegaLogViewer but, needs the following changes:

AFV to Afr
EGO Corr to Gego
EGO Volt to O2

Question 1 - I don't see a way in ECM Spy or MegaLogViewer to make these changes, Do I have a newer software version that no longer needs these changes?

Note: Megalog version MS 3.3.02 and ECM Spy version V 1.12.26

On page 37 of 48 in the tuning guide, there is an example of MegaLogViewer with data loaded and text that reads "Select the VE Analyzer button and you will reach the following screen"

Question 2 - How do I get the VE Analyzer button to display???

Question 3 - Is there a new tuning guide for the new version of ECM Spy???

I've learned quite a bit through this process but these details are kicking my ass.

Justnbuell - your advice was exactly what I needed to get the logfiles to load in MegaLog, thank you very much for your advice/assistance.
