ECMspy updated version doesn't work

I had downloaded and used ecmspy software last summer. It connects to the ecm but wont access the EEPROM. The website said that I should update to the latest version so I did. Same message - failed to get data base info for this ecm. Is there any way to trouble shoot this issue? Though are appreciated.

I have the latest (or nearly so) version of ecmspy. You have to register, which is what I think ich is saying (above). On the ecmspy site there are instructions for getting a free, demo database version of the program, which is very restricted. Unlike the 'old' ecmspy, the newer version requires a donation to make it fully operable. It's a multi-step process but the instructions on the site aren't too bad and if you have a few bucks (I donated 75 USD) and some time, you'll get there.

BTW, I have a 2003 XB9S using version 2 of the ecmspy program (as I recall) with the stock ECM.

My bike is a 2009 and I did donate and register it and it worked fine last summer. I did some data logging with it then. I have a friend with a dyno and he is going to let me play on it one day next week. When I tried to down load the EEPROM I got an error message. The website instructions seem clear but I apparently did something wrong and can find no way to contact ecmspy to find out what to do. I really don't want to reactivate and redonate if it will not work.
