I downloaded ECMSPY from Buell mods.com.I'm not a computer "wizz", so I'm trying to play with it a bit before I start doing stuff to my bike. I noticed that the version I downloaded is different from the one on the tuning guide and the one on Dave's DIY.It's missing the boxes about eeproms. The boxes next to "trouble codes". I tried to do a "print sceen" to put it on the forum so you would see but, again, I'm not a computer "wizz", so, no can do ...
My question;

Do I really have a different version that I can't play with maps, or is it just because I'm not hooked up to the bike(I'm waiting for my ECMSPY cable to come by mail)?

My ECMSPY version is V.1.12.1

There is many things you won't see on the computer screen until you do two things...

1. Connect a computer to the ECM (need the proper driver..!)
2. Do a "download" of the existing information in your ECM into the computer (save it to your computer!).

Then...you can see what is in the ECM (different pages) and then change things as you see fit.

Go slow, take notes, have fun..

P.s. You do NOT need to reset the Throttle position sensor (TPS) "nearly" as often as people tell you you need to...!

I've had my 05 12S for over a year now...made MANY ECM changes...and until a coupla weeks ago, never did the infamas "TPS reset"...no changes after I did either..!
Go figure..!

Hello there, i have an 2003 XB9R Firebolt and awhile back i got the ECM cable and ECMspy software for it so that i could do TPS resets if needed and also i wanted to look into tuning my ecm for more performance, my bike has the factory installed race kit (race ECM, Dual Race exhaust and the open top k&n filter) is there any tuning i can do with ECMSPY to get more performance of my bike since it already has the race ecm on it? or is it pretty much maxed where its gonna perform, thanks
