Electrical Issue ['99 Buell Lightning]

I can't figure out what this part is besides something electrical. My battery won't hold the charge and only way it will start is if I jump it with a car. I'm not to familiar with motorcycles but i'm thinking this part has something to do with it.

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this issue?

that is a voltage regulator

Could that be why my battery isn't holding charge? Where can I buy a new one of these?

could be the battery,stator or the regulator have the battery tested first
