Engine boggs / looses power @ 4.5 - 5 rpm

I have a 2008 City-X. I have had it serviced at my local HD dealer by certified Buell Techs. It is currently at 5500 km.

I’ve taken the bike in for an issue I’m having in the power band. Initially the issue was that during semi-aggressive acceleration, the bike would loose power at exactly 4500 rpm until it reaches 5000 then kicks back in and acceleration is clean through to 6000.

It has been in to the dealer twice for this issue. They reset or reprogram the computer do-hicky and give it back to me. after about an hours of riding the issue comes back, This time even worse then before.

It’s becoming a pretty dangerous situation because there is a drastic pop when the power kicks in after 5000.

and i though the 2008 ecu didn't need to be reset or reprogrammed [confused]

you got some more details as to does it happen when the engine is warm, cold, both?
does you rpm remain constant when idling? and at a constant throttle position?
is there sometimes a popping sound in your intake?
do you have any mods installed?

Its your Throttle position sensor. Have your dealer check the TPS voltage on the digital tech.

Any combustion engine has a fuel filter. You definitely need to change it I would say every 10k miles or so.

Its on the pump itself in the tank. You have to pull the fuel pump module to get to it.
