I've had my new Buell XB9R for a couple weeks now and the check engine light came on. I used the jumper wire method to determine that I have two codes. 15 and 36. Temp air sensor and fan voltage. What should i do, im new to buells, ive had a few Harley's but this DDFI is a whole new world. I've looked into ecm spy and have done alot of reading but if someone has come across these two problems before and how to alleviate them both I would love to learn solutions. Would fan voltage be affected by the battery. I read that it can be low or high. Can I clean the Temp Air sensor. Any help with these two engine codes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, this forum rocks. It has already taught me so much.

replace the IAT sensor, pretty cheap and you don't have to get it from HD...there's a thread in the general motorcycle chat discussing alternate part numbers for parts that can be used. replaced mine last year along with the cooling fan and it was a Ford IAT sensor, the cooling fan had to be replace due to internal failure, metal shavings around the shaft and the shaft had lots of play, more than likely bearing failure. no check engine light after replacing those parts. suggest cleaning the fan of any oil and or dirt build up to prolong it's life...

I have a new IAT sensor ordered and no chafed wires. Fan seems to work fine as well. I will look again. Thank you for your help
