I bought a new set of LED turn signals that came with resistors. I have an EP36 turn signal relay (from Advance Auto) installed. Is it necessary to install the resistors to work along with this relay?

I went ahead and installed the resistors per the instructions that came with the turn signals as the instructions indicated when replacing a 10w incandescent signal with their LED unit, but Are they needed? Less wiring is always better

So what's the worst thing that can happen? The buzzer goes off and they don't blink? I just wanted to ensure I couldn't damage anything if I tried connecting directly
