Hand the bill to the people that knocked over your bike, buy aftermarket parts and fix it youself and pocket the change :D

Haha im gonna get the check from her insurance company and make a few hundred :) the wife and I are celebrating our first wedding anniversary and she got me a sweet ass alpine star jacket. Free money from insurance + riding jacket equals good week!

Go through the insurance or don't whatever gets you more with less trouble. Quotes are easy to find and this guy should be paying Harley's 100/hr Stupid fee for hitting you anyway. Then buy your self
a busted clutch lever, bent shifter
and
maybe more
then grab a beer sit back and enjoy a bike that can take a hit. Unless you want a show bike, eventually you'll drop it on your own, we all do unless we drive like grand-pa. Which is right for some, but I doubt gramps owns a Buell.

Hell pay off some bills or buy get yourself an 18 pack.

Zeroflat, best check your computer security. Looks like someone hacked on, claimed to be you, and said they, you, were going to rip off the insurance company.

I know you're smarter than that.

Never know who's lurking.

Yeah, always report an accident and cover your ass. I can see where she wants to keep the insurance company out of it so she doesn't get in trouble with work. I do feel bad for both of you. No reason to risk getting her fired for an honest mistake. I'd go straight to her after an estimate is written up and if she doesn't immediately pay, go through the insurance.

I agree with Maronz. Get an estimate from the dealer ASAP. Tell them to give you cash right away or file. Don't let this hang out there too long. If they will not give you the dealer estimate in cash for any reason just submit the claim and move on.

I had a guy rear end my Z28 with a 2500 pick up. He wanted to settle out of insurance. He argued with the repair estimate and day later I submitted to insurance. Turned out he was in a rental under his companies name. Took insurance 18 months to collect from him. I was glad I submitted.
