I think it is a compressor... like a turbo but it compresses the gasses coming out of the exhaust, not the air going in for compustion. Adds a lot of torque on low rpm, and adds hp too. I might be wrong though, but it looks like one...

Eli, only current mod is removing the ugly reflectors and right side airscoop off of an Uly. Many mods to come. I am located at Fort Meade MD.(near Baltimore). II have been in the USCG for over 12 years. This is my first sport bike/Buell. I have always ridden HD's. I love this bike so much I am selling my Herritage because its boring to ride now compared to the Firebolt.

here are my 2. First I will start with the simple one
2009 Firebolt, drummer muffler removed reflectors, added darkhorse moto sliders.
the day I got her

and today

Ok now onto my true love.. my 04 Lightning she has traction grips, pucks, crg mirror, black buell levers (to be replaced with crg's) firebolt pegs, xblights intergrated tail light, chopped tail section, Buell race kit with drummer muffler sitting in garage to replace the race can, custom upholstered seats, painted the heel gaurds tail and headlight surrounds but just had those parts powdercoated as well as the gas cap pegs handle bar clamp entire tail. 10,000k h.i.d. kit. xb9 primary cover with a xb9 cam cover waiting to go on it as well. billet shifter and brake lever. Carbon parts include upper and lower belt gaurd inner fender and oil cooler scoop with left and right side scoops to follow. 06 airbox cover with open airbox I'm sure I missed some things. She is under project mode with many many uprades still to do. I want to build her the way I think she should have come in the first place. Trying to keep her tasteful and clean.

Buellbradski, what kind of paint did you use to paint the middle part of the lower fairing? I wanted to find a paint like that to highlight some parts of my bike, but can't find a proper one...
Can you please take a closer photo of the red paint on the chin fairing and/if wheatever else you've painted with it, and let me know the specs?

i have a question, do you mind sharing your technique for how you stenciled out the BUELL in the gas cap...ive been wanting to do that for some time however being that its depressed, instead of raised, i dont know how to...help! lol

jezuz its medium garnet red from duplicolor

its a rattle can i just cleared over it with dupli colors paint shop i got at auto zone it matchs real good and is cheap its holding up too. just use a good plastic primer 1st an sand i smooth.
