For those who have bought Ebay GSXR shorty levers and modified them, which ones should I buy? Exactly what has to be done for them to work? (pics would help)

This is the exact pair I won. Very pleased with them, just a little bit of time on the grinding wheel. I took some pictures of them on my bike but haven't loaded them online yet. I'll let you know when I do. May take a few days.

Ok, here's the pictures of the ebay levers on my xb9...

brake lever at shortest extension(although it'll hit the bar before it bottoms out)

Clutch lever, you can kinda see how the body of the lever doesn't line up perfectly with the perch. This bothers me slightly and I may try to fix it someday by grinding and painting that part.

Here's some pictures of how far I ground the lever down. Pretty much just grind a little at a time and keep trying to fit the lever on your bike until the nub isn't pressing on the cylinder. I noticed I could actually grind mind down a tiny bit more, but I'll leave it for now.

How the levers are in the first picture is with the brake lever at full extension, and the clutch lever at the next to shortest extension. I could almost go for it being closer but then I don't think it would pull the clutch cable far enough. The only other thing I had to do to make the clutch lever fit was take the little plastic sleeve off of the cable end. I thought about just drilling the hole in the lever slightly bigger, but then I just pulled the plastic piece off.

I'm gonna keep my eye out for some brass bushings and eventually drill the main holes slightly bigger and press in the bushings, just so the levers last longer. I have a friend with a busted lever so I'm going to see if I can press his bushing out, then I'll just have to find one more somewhere. Overall I'm very pleased.

I just ordered a set from ebay au last night. Same levers as on the US sight, but since they are shipped from Hong Kong anyway why not use the exchange rate to your advantage. I paid less than $50 shipped. If I had bought them three days ago it would have been closer to $40. Thanks for the pictures. I can't wait untill they get here.

I got the ASV shortys. They fit with no drilling or fuss, but they cost more. I prefer not to buy chines anymore. so make sure you know where you stuff is comming from, ebay now has more chines knock offs and they always fit crappy. Everything from brake levers to video cards for your computer. They do the best job they can hiding it from the public where they com from. if you want your kids to have jobs, stop buying chines!!!! research before you buy.

Do you really think all the parts and machinery used to build those levers originated in the US?

Those ASV are definitely sexy, but it's well known where the cheap levers are coming from, especially since they're shipped from Hong Kong there's no hiding anything. The only reason the fit isn't great is because they're made for gsxrs and we're trying to fit them on another bike. I'd have been more than happy to get some home grown levers if they weren't $200.
