What do you guys use to seal exhaust joints on your Buell? Like where the headers connect to the muffler.

Good T-clamps should be all you need, otherwise there's an issue. Some bikes just use springs to keep the joint together with no clamps at all.

I don't know of any 'sealer' that would deal with the extreme heat and pressure on a straight joint like that. Especially on a high compression V-twin that will blow the end cap off a lesser muffler!

I use the high temperature and sensor safe Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker

But the service manual says it is not necessary to use any sealant in this place

Torca muffler clamps have eliminated the need for silicone or graphite tape during assembly.

I changed my Buell over to the more standard slip joint with springs. Just because my bike is naked and I didnt like the looks of the clamp. But Ive never used sealer on exhausts. Usually after a little time the soot and stuff will seal up any little leaking.

I assume hes asking about the multi piece aftermarket exhuasts. Like the elbow that connectsthe header pipe to the muffler. I am having a hard time keeping it sealed also its vibrated so much it wallowed out the hole
