Looking at exhaust systems, slip ons, etc. No variety, everythings the same, in other words a 2-1 underneath pipe attached to the silencer that ends at the rear tire. Seems to me someone could come up with a different configuration, like the Zard exhaust fitted to the Ducati Sport 1000. Awesome. With a good pipe bender, I would think these things can be done. I'm really getting anxious to change out the black stovepipe underneath my bike, man, that thing is fugly.

Anyone see some different exhaust lay-outs around? what about a 2-2? I wonder how that would sound, probably very good knowing what Ducatis sound like.

been reading about the Free Spirits exhaust on another board. The slip on is a 2 into 2 with )suppossedly) a good sound.

My pipe is a little different. It was the Voodoo XXX front exit muffler prototype. Tatoo72 has the how to posted up on his site if you wanted to make one.

Wow, awesome looking bike Nitto, that is really cool. Needless to say that front exit is different, any feedback?

Randy at Hawk performance has one in the making. He does custom work and his prices are unbeatable!

no more voodoo nitto:(. he got a new job and quit making pipes. no more website either[down]

Ok, lets start with what in theory will the exhaust do for performance and did it meet that expectation? Hows the sound and do you need a remap? Any other comments would be welcome.

I had a meeting today with Martin at Motowheels. He is interested in exploring exhaust options for the 1125 series bikes and possibly offering these designs/systems to 1125 owners. He has an awesome black sport 1000 in his store equipped with a Zard 2 and 2 megaphone silencer exhausts. Its beautiful. I should have taken a pic of it, but I'm sure its on his website.

I'm moving ahead and making some more needed changes, I have a plan in mind and believe its going to look fantastic when completed. I can't divulge the details just yet, but if any of you are interested in offering your thoughts in respect to upgrading the handlebar controls, let me know via PM.

Its time to offer Buell owners a wider variety of upgrades and quality upgrades at that. Your input is always welcome.

what style of exhaust are you looking for? all of the pipes made for the buells usually are under the motor & exit by the rear tire (except for nitto's). are you looking for a traditional sportbike exhaust that exits further back like say a ducati etc? just curious to what style you're gettin at. something like this (xb though)

It's just a shame that an exhaust for a bike costs $2000 (US) like the Free Spirits full system (did I convert that right? $1.00 = £1.6706)... I mean you can get custom exhausts for cages made for half that. That's half the cost of the bike itself w/o shipping!!!

It's still a beautiful exhaust.

+1

Joel, the Ducati SS, Honda SP1, Aprilia have that style that we are going to look at. This is the first time I've seen the Free Spirits system and indeed it is a beautiful system, but does the cost put it out of reach? Well, for me it does. That exhaust would go on my wish list, not my short list. $2K is actually reasonable compared to full systems for the Ducati brand. I wonder how that Free Spirit system sounds? I wonder also if it will clear a trailer ramp?

Motowheels has access to two very good exhaust people. They will be brought into this project early on because they can advise what can be done from a design and financial point of view. Its likely going to be kept simple and I have asked to consider dual pipes as well, maybe as an option.

We have a bunch of other upgrades we will be discussing over time. Right now its more or less in the conceptual stage, our first meeting will be next Wednesday. I think most vendors of aftermarket products are thinking of backing out or down in regards to products geared for the Buell. I don't think they are considering anything new and thats understandable. However, this is like a correct yet maybe untimely mission on my part and from the first day I began researching the model, I realized the aftermarket parts inventory sorely lacked depth and what it did have lacked variety and competition. I'm accustomed to personalizing and adding performance and bling parts to my Ducatis. Its fun and makes your bike more appealing. To me its like a hobby and I enjoy it. I hope others do as well because I'm serious about trying to source and secure aftermarket products that are quality and hopefully affordable.

I can only speak for the 1125CR and just by "staring it down" I can clearly visualize the bike is very conducsive to having upgrades added to it. Crossover to other models will undoubtedly occur, but what I see in the near future is one cool looking bike, even more unique than what it already is. BTW, we are looking into light weight wheels too, that is going to be a little complicated.
