I'm sure there is another thread somewhere with my question but Ive searched and searched and could not find it (Little new at this). I have a 09 xb12r and want to build my own muffler for it. I don't want to use the stock exhaust just in case my plans don't work out. I would like to know what is the difference from xb9's and 12's in terms of size or mounting brackets. Also between years. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

There is no difference, brackets and pipe diameter input leakage is the same. Only have old XB exhaust valve.

you can put a 9 can on a 12 and vise versa. Most people who mod a stock can look for a 9 can because they are lighter.

Thanks guys.

Has anyone out there tried something like this?

Hey I thought I would do a follow up with the exhaust. I've had it on for a day now and sounds nice and deep like. Pretty happy with the outcome.

I'll try to do this by steps.

If I get the time soon Ill try and post a clip of the sound.

You're pretty good with Solidworks. I'm assuming you are an ME major? I really like the exhaust. Its always a lot more satisfying when you build your own stuff.
