I cut mine like that too it works fine.

You could probley repack that jardine and it would sound much better. In my opinion its a buell its supposed to be loud thats one of the best parts about it. when people here you and they wonder what the hell that thing is its priceless. with the right tune you will definitly notice a difference in power too.

loud is ok, i can handle loud. this jardine pipe is retardedly, obnoxiously loud. it literally rattles my helmet. i can't handle that.
like i said, i'll probably go hawk in the future when i have time to work on the bike and tune it

update 2:
so pipe is on, mounted up and running good. almost didn't want to start at first, but other than that runs great.
pros: bike runs much smoother over all and alot smoother at low rpms, seems to have more low-end pull (obvious due to added back pressure), some of the staggering from stop-n-go's seems to gone, and last but not least I CAN ACTUALLY HEAR and am not deaf for an hour after riding
cons: a little too quiet, there is a definite loss of power (but not bad, still plenty for me) especially on the top end (which was expected), and bike seems to run a little hotter (but then again, i'm used to riding in 40* weather and its 70* today)

I'll keep this setup for a while and get an ECM cable soon to check out the fuel mapping and do a TPS reset. I do really enjoy being able to hear while I ride. Maybe after the summer I'll send it off to get Hawk'd. Thanks for all your help guys.
