Ok here it is....I want a louder sounding bike. I have an 08 XB12Ss. I can get a Jardine slip on and I no I need to reflash. My dealer can't do it. What are my options. The catalog says to us the Dynojet power commander but I am unclear of with one for the Buell. here catalog Page 222.

Which part number am I looking for my Buell? Is this the best course of action to achieve what I am looking for? I own a sheet metal shop and have made exhaust systems for snowmobiles b4 but I do not want to make an exhaust unless the power commander can set up the ecm right with my mod. A dyno is out of the question in my area too. I do not want to alter my stock exhaust in anyway either. Any thoughts guys?

ok, well...you might be limited at this point as far as tuning goes. you can attempt to see if someone near you has ECMspy and see if your ECM is compatible with the communication the software provides. SOME early release 08 ECMs were tunable with this method. if thats the case, you can have the bike tuned better than any power commander thingy will do for you, and its very inexpensive. If the ECM isnt compatible, then youre stuck either waiting for a release that communicates, or relying on a pseudo-technician at the dealer to help tune it. i wouldnt bother.

if youre just doing a slip-on, its not ultra-super-required to remap the ECM. now, if you were putting the air filter as well, then itd be a lil more important. you can run the jardine, drummer, special ops, my pipe on your stock map and be ok.

Kinda off topic, but I went in to my local street bike shop, they sell Ducs and kawis and yamerhammers and such. I figured they'd have a dyno and use Directlink being how that's what the Ducs use(i think) and sure enough, yeah they have and use both. Well I ask if they can hook up the directlink and dyno my bike, and they tell me that they can dyno it and tune it after installing power comander, not using directlink!!....
How lame is that?!?

I don't want to use Power Commander!

Sorry Tin, just had to rant a bit.

Just had my '03 XB9S pop her second ecm in less than a year.
Went through and repaired every chafed wire we could find.
Then, got me a (free) replacement '03 ecm and downloaded a map off ecmspy.
Huge improvement. HUGE!

Went home and opened the airbox.
Took her back and dialed her in a bit more.
Except for a couple pops and gurgles when down-shifing,
she's a whole new demon...

They offer ecmspy downloads @ our local HD's here.
But its very costly.
Found a place called Texas Custom Choppers here just outsida Austin, TX.
They do Harley work and really want my business. Imagine that!
So they were more than happy to help me out,
and it cost nickels on the Harley dollar...

Now I just need a little Dyno time.
I'm sure I can figure that out...
But for now I'm happy as blueberry pie!

So there it is....

There isn't a Power Commander made for a XB style Buell.

There is no POWER COMMANDER for are bikes!

Sorry to let ya'll down but...here it is in all it's glory...access to everything you wanted to know about Dobeck TFI but were afraid to ask...so it's not the POWER COMMANDER you were all hoping for, but at the same time...hope it helps.

Xbear: they charge you for ECMspy downloads when its posted EVERYWHERE that its free!?!?!?? or am i confused?

Well this is not hekping the 08 09 bikes since it say from 99 to 07

Every mod out there started with a couple things, the bike, the part, the guy that wanted to make it work. Can always reflash to stock...
