I hope it has not been posted before....:D

Cool, lawdog graciously talked me through the process of changing the codes to eliminate the servo and bypass the CEL, as my cable is starting to fray badly.

Now for the trick question: I gutted my exhaust in 2011.
Is the valve still actually doing anything?
Do i need to keep it stuck open?
Or just bypass everything, disconnect the cable and move on?

Uly getting it's 32 000km service tomorrow and I would like to do this at the same time.

Thanx!

Hi Wally,
Sorry I just noticed your PM.

I doubt the vale is doing anything but you don't know how they gutted the muffler. It would depend on how they set the muffler up inside. Did they open all the chambers? Did they reroute the main chamber and drill holes. Did they run dual pipes? Etc. Many variations to the DIY muffler and without looking at the inside I don't know.

I would wire it open. Maximize airflow.

Remove cable, wire, actuator, wiring, and program the EEPROM.

No problem, i figured you were a bit busy.

This is what I did (I gutted the exhaust myself):

I would hate to take that f£@%&*cking exhaust off again...

Servo cable = 0, Wally (via lawdog) =1.

Went about disabling the exhaust valve and servo.
Lawdog's direction were spot on and it works 100%!

Thanx again!

As soon as I unhooked the exhaust side, I was left with this:
