extended swingarm

They are custom made and will cost you roughly 4 grand with the widened wheel. I've looked into this. 6 Inches over looks good with a 240 tire. I just cruise and don't use the bike to it's racing potential but I love the buell. To each is their own.

How long do you want to go? If its a couple inches, you could swap in a swing arm from an SS. Mine has one. Well it's my last bike. But, you get the idea.

It only looks right if you swap tails. If you keep the firebilt tail the 2 inches isn't noticeable. I love how your bike sits....is that just the scg suspension or is it lowered more

wow
I must be dreaming,
went online to BuellXB.com and someone mentioned an extended swingarm for an XB
wtf [confused]
they must be on the wrong forum or something
:D

btw SEXT9
nice stance on your horse [up]

There's nothing wrong with it. Not everyone corner carves and races on a track. I personally think as long as the extension isn't like drastic meaning like 6to 8 inches out max with a well designed arm it will be clean but I also like the bike in it's stock form too. Different strokes for different folks man just because it's not up your alley doesn't mean you have to crap on what someone else wants.

Me personally on an r model wouldn't waste money on an Ss arm because it won't look right without the s tail(unless you intend to switch go for it). I've seen it done and it looks like a stock r model still. Sext9 bike looks amazing I think. My idea of right paint right ride height etc etc.

The ss swingarm will look better than an aftermarket one will on an r. Plus you retain the stock quality and oil tank. As for those that give him crap for wanting a longer wheelbase, there is a reason buell made the ss. To each his own.

I think it depends on the arm design. I have not seen a single extended swing arm on a buell I like. I have a design in mind that would be very sharp. 6 inches over, all rectangular aluminum tubing, no round bar and will retain the oil tank and features.

Like for me I just cruise on the bike and don't do much else. I ride with my fiance on the back all the time so the S tail won't do me good for that. I love the bike and any of the jap bikes just don't really do it for me. The buell has my first bike and intend keeping it for awhile.

I agree completely, which is why I have an Ss. :D

I didn't mean to come off as a troll; I was just taking a cheap shot at the customized Hayabusa crowd. Plus, I sorta thought that Buell himself gave us permission to make fun of extended swing arms & neon ground effects when this ad was published:

I hate people that wave mid-turn (uh, duh), as you're coming to a stop (I'm kind of holding the clutch and downshifting right now, dick) or from the other side of a divided highway.

test your design from top to bottom, front to rear...bear in mind this is a structural member of the bike...for the loads and stresses it has to take

secondly...

what's wrong with this statement ^^^^...dude, you have a Buell not a chopper, cruiser, or bobber!

your right I own a buell..... im youngish and like sport bikes. if I wanted a bagger I would buy one but I don't. I have an hour ride to work every single day I ride the bike(every day there's no rain or snow and its warm enough) without riding like some idiot splitting cars and such. so that's my definition of cruising you could say. she comes with me all the time too because she enjoys riding as much as I do but she doesn't want a bike of her own. I like in boring Illinois with not a whole lot of curvey roads.

your right I own a buell and I can do what I please with it. if i extend the swing arm i wont be extending it more then 6" over and wont have anything more then a 240 tire out back. and all the geometry/structure and what not will be tested out. if i decide to not piss away 4 grand ill just keep it as is and enjoy it as is.

Do as you wish but I'll repeat what was said above but not quite as rude ;):

If you want an extended swingarm and all the stuff that usually goes with it you probably don't want a buell. Might be better off with a different bike. Someone on the forum recently put it in very good words "it's like putting mud tires on a corvette".

any sport bike is made to "handle" to a point. like isaid im torn. idk how i feel about the s tail with s swing arm. looks great on sext9s bike but idk i like the firebolt front fairing and im just not entirely sure how i feel about the firebolt front with the s tail. keeping the firebolt tail with s swing arm is a waist as its not noticed at all. might as well save the cash and put it elseware.

Wat^?

The Firebolt front and S tail were made for eachother
