Isnt that an ss swing arm in the pic? actually yours in the first bike I can say I like the look. ive googled quite a few pics but yours and xtremelows are the only right looking ones. that's the SS/SCG suspension too right? you ever take a woman on the back? just curious for some feedback compared to a stock r tail for comfortability. seating doesn't look all that much different.

I did the S to R conversion last year, lasted maybe just over a month before returning her to an S. Not that I didn't like it, just couldn't ride in that position for long periods. Sucks getting older :p Have had my bike for 8 yrs come this June, changes done to her have been suspension from a low to standard and cosmetics. She's factory equipped with race ecm and exhaust, along with K&N filter. Toughest battle going on with her is finding mirrors that are both functional and stylish. Have already done the single and dual bar ends, still not what I'm looking for. So, with the changes I've done with my bike, I think I know what you're going through in finding just the right look that floats your boat. To each his own, right. So if I bust your balls or come across as an ass...build a bridge and get over it, you can file a hurt feelings report later:D and by the way welcome all you newbies to the forum...now go out and ride it like you stole it!

The buell has my first bike and intend keeping it for awhile.
I mean this in the most respectful way possible when I suggest that perhaps because you're new to riding, you're still preoccupied with how your bike looks(?). As you ride more, acquire more skills, & start to push your own limits, you may find that the way your bike performs is equally, if not more, important.

The fact that you seem willing to compromise performance for looks is why some of us are giving you a good-natured hard time. :D

Wife on the back no problems.

Nope that is the standard R/S swingarm, I have the Ss swingarm just havent put it on yet.

Yes my Firebolt has CG suspension.

Different strokes for different folks man just because it's not up your alley doesn't mean you have to crap on what someone else wants.
.
hope your not referring to me as I was being facetious,
different strokes for different folks and if you want to 'look' like an idiot then please do.

btw,
you've been on this forum for 4 years now,
what's that saying??
pics or it didn't happen
do you even own a Buell?

[smirk]

no i dont own a buell yet ive been on this forum for 4 years.... i think that would be a little rediculous if i didnt or havent previously owned one for an extended period of time. (not trying sound like a dick but just saying).i work 2 jobs(9am to 6pm with a 45 minute commute between the 2 and 7 - 1am and go to school as well) heres your pic as proof that i do infact own a buell......

here is the direct link because it wont let me put in the image code

All im saying there is a right and wrong way to do an extended swing arm. Some look good and some dont. matter of fact a lot of them dont.

I get it. the buells a handling bike. built around racing etc etc. nothing i dont get here. if i wanted an r1 or gsxr i would of bought one. a family member had a buell in the past and ive been hooked since day 1. never even bothered looking for another bike. i consider 4 years of riding still "new" to riding. if i wanted to i could go out and learn to drag the knee and so forth and so forth. thats the only time i feel people use this bike to its potential it was given.

Again an extended arm was something i wanted to do because i do think with the right design(again not dragged out 30 feet with a 345 tire on the back and all sorts of stupidness) it would look good and if i felt like going to the drag strip it would be used on a different end of the spectrum.

none the less we can sit here and argue about an extended arm being gay or which exhaust system is better, which maps are better, which tires etc etc. bottom line is at the end of the day you guys all mod your bikes around what you like and what suites your needs regardless of what other people say. i apologize if i came off as offensive to anyone and ill leave it at that.

dtm0918...we got a little off topic, hope you got your answer, keep us in the loop either way you go

Omiotek...it's all good, we've all at one point been where you're at and moved forward with projects

me too,
I was not trying to be a dick, more along the lines of being my smartass self...
guess it was not conveyed properly.

good luck with your project.

:)

Thanks and you with yours. Not to sure what I'm going to do yet. Oh9bilts bike sits and has a great look to it I think. Definately the lowered ride height makes a huge difference in the way the S tail looks on the bike. I kind of feel without have the lowered ride height it looks a bit weird. That's just my opinion. Is there a rear seat cover available from Trojan horse or anything? Something like sext9s?

My bad with the gay comment. I should of quoted the "idiotic" but we are done with the whole debate here.

I just saw this and it made me laugh. i like buells stock just fine but do what you want. I see the fag bags and Fanny packs and gps mounts and two up + windshields on buells all the time. Those fags aren't scraping knee either. They're usually found on this site talking about mapping which they still don't remotely understand and resetting the tps for the eleventh time this week. They never worked at a Harley dealer as a tech when the fuel injected bikes were brand new. But they know more about them than anyone else. and their opinions are the best. This forum caters to a Corvette crowd. You know; midlife crisis men that all say they've been riding since 1968 but in reality only got packed on the back of a vespa in 1989

/\/\/\ What a great 13th post.... I'd say welcome, but you're not if that's how you plan to conduct yourself.

Here's a bit of advice for everyone.

Treat this forum just as you would some guys garage. You wouldn't just walk into a garage full of guys, and start talking crap, telling everyone off and vomiting all of your useless knowledge of everyone's history and mechanical aptitude.

Treat this forum with the same respect you would as anyone's shop or garage. Respect is earned.

So that explains all the unwanted male come-ons I get; it's my GPS mount!
