so i been noticing more noise from my bike past couple days. finally tonight i got down to look at muffler and bam right in the face could feel air puffing at me... looked up and right where the front header goes into the collector the pipe is just completely cracked right on the weld. clean straight through... why the hell would it do this? anyone else have this problem? few weeks ago when i went to paint muffler noticed that the flange was pretty damn close to being cracked all the way through on the weld... anyone help me please! and well i'm at any decent exhaust system's out there?

how are your exhaust brackets? are they loose?
how that header tightened @ the cylinder?

somehow, vibration are getting through to that pipe.

Hey Fock347,

You have definitely earned a rep point from me as well. You and I think along the same lines. If I was ever on the side of the road I would hope to see you pull up to give me a hand. With that being said I'm going to send you my rims so you can go ahead and throw a brand new set of tires on since you have nothing to do. :D[up]

Buell Cru I'm with you there. Fock can come and give me an oil change too ;), I'm kidding. No one gets my saturday projects, NO ONE [mad]

lol man have i opend up pandoras box?? well buell cru ill put your tires on but im not buyin them for you lol.

Dont worry it wil rub out.

Like Lefox said you need to check your clamps and backets. The vibrations in the header should match the motor since they are mounted as one.

Something is loose somewhere.

thanks guys. i think what happened is when my muffler was welded back it made it stiffer and maybe a lil tweaked in the wrong way so then from all the vibrations it went to the next weakest spot... and possibly thats why it cracked my header!? idk everything seems to be tightened right. quesiton tho can i remove the headers without dropping the engine? ps found a header from a buddy. so i'm golden. just ordered some DEI titanium exhaust wrap too! Fock347... thanks for the offer. appreciate man

well just started tear'n apart everything. go to take muffler off... the bracket that's bolted to the engine that holds the front of the muffler on... isn't bolted there anymore. the bolt COMPLETELY snapped off both ends... just had the middle piece in the hole. go to take the back off... BOTH of the bolts are COMPLETELY snapped apart. i'll be able to get the one out with a pliers or vise grips but the others gonna need some drill'n and finaggle'n! wtf happened here? how can bolts be just snapp'n completely in half. i'm think'n the 20 mile leg @ 115 mph minimum with max around 142~ mph on the poker run a few weeks ago was tooo much vibration!? idk but this guys pissed and is gonna mix me up a crown and dc!!!
