So I have noticed a few times my fuel light comes on and when I stop for gas I get like 3-6 bucks worth and its full so its giving me a false indication. Today I finally had the time to go pick it up from the dealer and the light was on... I stopped for gas and got $1.60. Whats the deal?? Is this a simple fix I can do or just a rest deal?? Any help would be great.
Thanks

I thought I saw a post on here once about the same problem but cannot find it.

Sorry double post

Is your trip odometer resetting itself as well? Keep an eye on it and if it is, it's probably a battery about to go bad or not fully charged. Someone else had a similar problem on here. Anyway, if you're trip od. is resetting as well, you either need a new battery or need to trickle charge the current one for a few days.

If it's not, may be a bad sensor.

Q1 why was it at the dealer?
Q2 did you tell the dealer about this?
Q3 if you know you filled it up and you only ride for 1.60$ why go for gas?

1 - 10K service
2 - Nope didnt think about it till I put $1.60 in it
3 - I couldnt remember befor I took it in when the last time I put gas in it was.

I dropped it off last Wednesday and wasn't able to pick it up till this AM.

The trip meters are fine, so is a fuel sensor something I can mess with so I dont have to take it back to the dealer? My schedule is all jacked up till the end of February and I would loose it for a week again and go through major bouts of depression...

I guess till then I could just keep track of mileage worst case...
Thanks

Sorry, but I don't have a clue. I track my mileage - when it gets to 120 miles I fuel up. The lights not on then, but there's a 25 mile stretch on my commute so I don't chance it. Hopefully, someone else will have some knowledge of the low fuel sensor.

- bad connection @ the fuelsensor
- the ground wire is bare and making connection.
- bad fuelsensor
