Well the 2007 xb12ss now has 625 miles on it, the Doc ok'd me last evening so, after work today I pulled the bike out and went to the gas station filled it up and, road home ! My hands felt like I was riding for hours so it's still going to take awhile. The new to me bike ran flawlessly so when I got home I changed the oil and filter, tomorrow I'll change the primary oil and just double check everything that I can.

Oddly it felt like I never had the accident and, I never stopped riding !

Pics or it didn't........:black_eyed: Glad your back with the living:)

In honor of Robert M. Pirsigs recent passing I give you this present, for getting back in the saddle:

“In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.

On a cycle the frame is gone. You're completely in contact with it all. You're in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.”

Thanks for all the well wishes, Cooter, Pirsig was spot on with that statement.
Silverrider, I'm not going to put too many miles on it too soon but, only because I'm still on the mend, after that, I'm going to ride the wheels off ! Going elk hunting in Colorado in September and, tentative Alaska trip next year, I have to get into shape.
Yes, yes, I must get this picture thing going, hopefully soon.

Kenny , refresh my memory with a pic of before and after, I kinda remember a bike with wood dust on it.

Kenny so glad you back on a machine again. I broke my wrist a few yrs ago and it still gives me trouble. Prolly from being old as dirt. Get that buell down here and I'll break it in for ya at the track....lol Be careful out there brother and enjoy.

Yeah Wally, I do want to meet up with you at the track, when is the next time you have a track day ?

Silver, this is the bike you posted up for sale, it was on cycle trader in Texas, covered in sawdust from the po's woodshop, I took a shot and it worked out great. Does that ring any bells ?

I'm out again May 13th Kenny, then because I'm a pussy and won't strap on 40 lbs of gear in 100 degree weather I'll probably bag it til Sept.

That's good to hear. I broke my collar bone when I highsided my bike. I was taking off at a light turning right and gave her a little too much juice and the rear wheel slid out and after it gained traction I got flung off. Sucks bc it was only a three week old bike and my lack of experience got the best of me but all and all I'm exited to heal and the bike isn't too bad. Glad to find this forum bc now I need some parts and more knowledge. Thanks for posting.
