Where can i get some of the button head shoulder screws for the fender on my 04 xb12s? I saw them on ASB but dont really think they are worth almost 3 bucks a pop.

Any decent Hardware or Industrial parts store will have them on shelves. You can also find anything here: McMaster Carr.

McMaster was the first place i looked without much luck. I found one with the security pin in the middle. Maybe ill stop by fastenal today and see if i have any luck.

except that the bolt holding my fender on is a shoulder bolt.

I've done a significant amount of searching for the shoulder bolts with no success at all. Pretty much if you want the OEM you buy from HD (I know, I know)

The other solution would be to put some spacers (standoffs) in there with a standard, non shouldered bolt. mcm to the rescue. That link is just using measurement guesses off the top of my head. Search for "stainless steel standoff" and get the dimensions you need.
