So i changed my plugs on my xb9r and when i tried to get the front boot on i destroyed it. Anyone have any tips that can help me when my new wires get shipped? I'll probibly need some boot pliers and would like to buy them locally, anyone have any luck with boot pliers from like napa, oriellys, advance? I can get the rear boot to snap on but just cant get enough leverage on the front one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you take off your front left side scoop? If you take that off, the front cylinder is simple to get to. Like freak, the rear is the PITA for me.

I was just wondering everyones technique thats all, i hate to try and put these new wires on and mess them up too.

that helps alot, also to get a better look I take the bottom of the airbox off as well.

the best tool for these bikes with dealing with the plugs is small hands!!!

Yup... I agree.
Take the Scoop off..
Take the the bottom of the airbox off. Position the front from the top and use your fingers to scissor the boots and snap it down from the bottom.

I jack up my hands try to get the rear one on.. Most Plug pliers wont get you the angle you need to get the back one on. I bought a pair of Hose grip pliers from harbor freight. Filed down the grips till they were dull and less likely to shred the boots and dipped the ends in DIP to make a helper. The angle is still a b*tch though. Have to find a way to heat them and bend them in a vise.

True what GTP3800 said. If you have a kid or your lady has small hands.. works better than anything.

Well i think im going to go look around at parts stores today for a pair of boot pliers because my problem is my hand is too big to grab the front boot enough to pull down, i end up just sliding the boot down and not the wire inside. I'll let everyone know what i come up with.
