I went ahead and did it....been lurking on here for awhile not saying much, but i figured i'd share my ride. Been doing some basic mods like exhaust, filter, plugs, and led TS, well I got tired of waiting for a lightning subframe to do a tail lift,so i did one on the firebolt tail.

So I know that already there are some fitment issues but if anyone else likes this look, i'll put a copy of the diagram up for anyone. Im going to pull the bike back apart next week to do some detailed fitting.

Thanks for any input!

Think im gonna get a different seat and trim the plastic to fit, keep my original JIK i dump the tail lift.

And for the fairing, gonna trim that where it meets the frame and maybe add a piece in the newly created empty space.

Hmmm, always wondered what they would look like...... To each their own, I will stick to my S tail lift on the R.[smirk]

+1 on the work[up]

idk no what these guys r thinking ,but that looks great jerseymayhem thats all this bike needs to look SICK and it does [up] im gonna wait till this winter to mess wit mines oh yeah n did u ever post the diagrams up if so let me no where i can find them
thanks

I can post something today, i do have to admit that i took it off though. The plastic rubbing and the ill seat fitment were driving me nuts. I love the lifted tail look, and hopefully i sparked some interest to have some people go out and street fighter up their firebolts, don't let the lightings have all the fun!

I totaly agree with "Its your bike do what you like", but I think this is a mod better left to the lightning crowd....Unless some one can come up with a compleat kit that fills in all the gaps left. +1 [up] to Jerseymayhem for trying it and posting pics, but he even said himself that the fitment issues drove him nuts so he removed it. Now I do like the looks of the tail lift on the lightnings and have considered a tail swap just for that reason. Now I just need to peice it all together and get the longer swingarm to go with it.

actually wasn't that uncomfortable, there is a website i found once frank something..that had a firebolt tail lift but it was expensive.

The plastic lawnmower wheel didn't hold up on the highway...

Yes if u can post something up for me , i gotta keep reminding myself that some people cant afford to take chances with there bikes when others can ,the buell for me is just another toy that i own ,to anyone not seeking a change to there buells thanks for turning these bikes into me too bikes in fact just go to a buell meet , but u better not walk away from ur buell or u will spend the rest of the day saying thats mine ....no wait thats mine .anyway thanks jesey may
