Hey guys,

I'm new to the Buell world, just bought an XB9R yesterday because it was a great deal. Though I can live with the styling, I'd like to take off the rear cowl (cheese grater) and basically do a lightning swap as described above. Can anyone send me links to the parts for the cheese grater delete?

Also, can I keep the clip ons?

if you have an actual R it doesn't have a chees grater, if you do have a cheese grater it is and R with an S tail and you can either cut the cheese grater yourself or there are several places you can get the tidy tail. If you change the front you will either need to fabricate brackets for the front or there are clip ons you can get that go with the S triple since the S front attaches to the top S triple.

Okay, so as far as staring with a lightning, and putting a firebolt tail on- what have we all decided here? There's about 1000 threads on this. It seems that it WILL indeed work just fine. But what all is required? Just the rear fairing bit? (Other than relocating electronics etc. I'm worrying about just the tail as step a)

Hi Guys, to convert the rear of a XB9R to the XB lightning what is required, apart from the seat itself? is the frame the same?
