Hey guys, I bought my first bike about a month and a half ago and I've put around 1,100 miles on it. However I am getting the same normal clunk from first gear in every gear now :-/ It also feels like it does not want to go into any gear, as there is a lot of resistance. Its a 2007 Firebolt xb9r with 4,350 miles on it. Any ideas? Sorry for lack of detail just not really sure how to describe it.

1,100 miles ago I switched out the oil in the primary and motor to amsoil. And the oil level in the primary seems good.

A 6 year old bike with 4k miles is a good deal. But 6 years is a long time. Serviced maybe 2 times. Not really broken in even. Clutch plates might be expired. Chain could be tight. Full synthetic is the best way to go. Start with the inspection cover and ball & ramp. Check the cables and screws on the clutch to see if there intact. Check the primary chain too.

I am his brother. I changed the primary fluid and adjusted tension. The other day he mentioned it was shifting hard. I notice it up shifting and downshifting in 2nd gear mostly. I made sure it was not a clutch issue also. It shifts but its not a clean engagement or almost like you are shifting without the clutch. Not the case but its somewhat rough comparing to that. I need to play with it some more but any suggests are appreciated.
