I guess you both would call your bikes lightning bolts. either way props to you for rebuilding the bike. hope she runs good for you man.

No shit! Thanks for saving another Buell, I imagine less and less people will these days with how hard OEM parts will be to get ahold of. I imagine the numbers will dwindle into part bikes over time.

THANKS!!!

So far so good. Yeah i saved her from the scrap. Its got a salvage title, but since i'm keeping it forever it doesnt bother me.

I even had a few moments where I thought about parting it out. I'm happy everything came together and I have a buell, and one thats special to me since ive had it completely apart and rebuilt.

Bump for spring! Took out the bike and blasted it around this last weekend when the weather was nice. Snowboarding season is almost over so I'm ordering parts for it.

Brake was warped and feeling not so hot, so I've picked up an EBR 6mm rotor new in box from a forum member here. I need new mounting hardware to go with it, but EBR is sold out. Hmm, I've gotta figure that out now.

Otherwise I'm going to pick up some levers and bar end mirrors soon enough, hopefully get a new tank cover(or paint mine correctly), and a few other details to make it into my dream bike. This year is the year of the Buell for me.

Oh! And i forgot to mention, from july to nov. i put about 2k miles on the rebuilt bike, she runs like a beauty!

Will update you guys with pics of the parts i start collecting, and of course some pics from any rides I've done.

Don't wanna leave you guys without pics though.

What i've been doing all winter:

How the bike currently looks. Notice i got a nice orange windscreen for it as well as a neat GP1 jardine exhaust (i know, not everyones favorite. I personally like the way it sounds, looks, and routes exhaust gas away from my leg so i don't smell like shit when i get off it. Also, power is nice with it! everyone complains about torque loss, but i certainly gained torque over stock with this pipe, uni air filter, and race map)

mate good effort and nice bike/s. nothing beats a good pair. except maybe a full house!

cheers

i gotta ask what are you doing with the old motor? if you sell it/part it out pm me. i have a motor that im thinking about rebuilding but i need alot of parts. can at least make one good engine out of the 2.

cpatt i'll get some pics of the motor later and you can LOL at it. It's beyond the standard "blown". I have only recently pulled it apart and i can tell you this. The cam bushings (brass bushings) are seized into the motor. The rearmost piston is broken into 2 pieces, the bottom end is probably shot - all though the rod play isn't all that crazy i still expect that its shot.

Thanks twoguns for the props, what makes a full house of buells exactly? Me my brother and my dad all have buells now, that's pretty much as full as it gets ;). My dad just picked up a tuber project that we are actually putting the heads off my old motor on and doing a 1250 kit.

alright ill have to check it out. those brass bushings are suppose to stay in the block. had 2 spin and come out and they say i cant put new ones in. and there seized to the cams i rely just need the bottom end haha and i think they said my crank bearings are junk too.. so they suggested i replace it. and by they i mean my local harley stealership

beleive a full house would be 5 buells 2 of a kind and three of another bet noone can do it. Bikes looking good! just talked my brother back into the buell world cant wait to ride with him. As far as buell poker i think i can get a pic of three of a kind maybe even fo. I think we should start a new pic challange buell poker.

Heh, well i've got a full garage at least. Tuber in pieces and two badass xb's.

Got a front fender for mine.. will get some pics next ride. Just got 11 inches of snow!

Hey is that last pic that you posted up in Durango? looks like Durango Mtn resort a bit...

Last pic was in Taos, NM! You should know this ag :p.

Well, another year with the buell.. still in love. I think I've fixed most the PO mistakes, the most recent one was he overtorqued the retaining pin for the front brake pads. It's a torx bolt and I could not get it out, i tried EVERYTHING too. Going to need a new front caliper to put my front brake pads on now :(

However I did plasti dip the tank cover, cut the spare windscreen i had down and plastidipped it, plastidipped the seatrails, got new tires (bridgestone battlax), got new levers (ebay), got a new seat (skyline seat), and probably some other stuff.

Runs amazing, although I'd like to spend some time and tune it with ECMspy.
