Just picked up my first Buell back in March. Absolutely enjoy every bit of this bike. I've been cruising the boards for a few months and figured I'd introduce myself. I've found a ton of good stuff on here so far. I plan on doing the breather re route mod very soon.

Quick question.. What torque wrenches are you guys using? I've been going without using one but I figured it's probably best to tighten everything to required torque specs.

Here's a pic of my bike so far. Only thing I've done had been cosmetic as I plastidipped the windscreen to make it all black instead of the red. I'm going to add some bar end mirrors as well. Simple mods for now until I can add a drummer or dean adams exhaust. I'm torn between the two, at the moment.. :p

I use a Craftsman 3/8 drive in/lbs for small bolts, Harbor Freight 3/8 ft/lbs for standard bolts, and Craftsman 1/2 ft/lbs for the bigger bolts. Don't forget to loctite every thing so they don't rattle loose.

Nice bike and welcome!
I wouldn't worry about a torque wrench unless you're planning on rebuilding the entire motor. It's not really necessary for basic maintenance. Just use common sense and don't gorilla torque anything. Most fasteners are stainless going into aluminum! So hand tight is usually adequate. If you're afraid of something coming loose, use a drop of blue locktight.
As far as exhausts... Go with the Dean Adams set up. No offense to Mr Drummer but Deans full set up looks super sweet! Wish I had the dough for one! Actually I'm saving up for one as my next mod.
Anyway. Welcome aboard!

[up] oh9bolt, funny you mention that. I originally got the idea after seeing your bike on instagram. That plastidip works great. Still a little red tint but no one (other than myself) notices..

Get a ZG screen, I'm honestly really surprised you(oh9bolt) painted yours :(

I do have some sweet walmart/autozone LED lights if you want to hook them up hahahaha :D

These were my 09s

I was seriously thinking about getting a Zero Gravity but I'm just not a fan of the bubble in the ZG screen. I like the uniform flat look across the front fairing.
