I picked up my yellow 2010 XB-12R with 2 miles on it yesterday, except the dealer "had" to put another 5 miles on it, and filled it up with gas.

250 miles of trailering got it dirty so I washed it before going to bed, then polished it all up with protectall early this morning. Now, it's out in the garage waiting for me. My next move is to put those first 20 miles on it using backroads and varying the load to the engine. I'm excited.

I must say, though, the yellow is a bit of a shock and I feel as though I've turned completely metrosexual now. My yellow Ducati oozes class, but the Buell in yellow oozes little girl. I'm am a little sorry I didn't move fast enough to get that black/blue comb., new for 2010 that was up in PA near Reading It was 1200 more, I dragged my feet, and it got sold by the time I was ready to drive up there and take a look.

Oh well, I'm sure I can find love in my heart for this girly bike after I ride it. Then ride it hard. LOL.

I'm in love! I can't get over how it handles!!! It's like a dream come true on two wheels! And I'm a Ducati rider!!! Now, make no mistake, the Ducs are on rails, for sure. With risers you are actually almost comfortable. But with the Firebolt, right out of the box, the ergos are fantastic! Pure perfection. I felt like I've been riding it for years right away. The seat is actually cozy. I found myself having way too much fun in the twisty parts. I can see how addictive this bike can be.

After another 50 mile ride, I plan on an oil change. This is one bike I want to treat real well, leave completely stock and enjoy for what it is.

Thanks for sharing - great ride review. Welcome to your new Addiction.....no matter what the color. ;)[up]

My God, it's gorgeous. The tailight is super bright and led driven. It is very pretty. I had a ZX-10 that was nice too, but this one is better. The turn signals look like an aftermarket custom item, also bright. Between the yellow and the lights I feel visible and safe!

Oh, you asked for the plate......My wife said "Oh, the plate is always lit up....it stays on..." and I didn't pay attention to her. I think she meant that the light was bright over the plate even after I shut the brake light off....I don't know, I'll take a look tonight then let you know.

Good to hear your reviews.

My duc riding is a little stale, but I thought they handled similarly, without the maintenance hassles and as you say, more comfortable. It's a more 'liveable' bike.
