Hello,
I just brought home a 2006 XB12R. Hoping to do some track days this fall.
Very fun ride but she needs some work (fork seals, exhaust, etc). I will be searching the forum before I post any stupid questions!
Any new-guy tips and tricks for this bike would be appreciated.
Does anyone have a link to the factory service manual online? I usually like to get a copy for my vehicles.

Thank you,

Mike

Welcome to the forum! Lots of good info here in the stickies above every section. Reading those will answer 99% of your questions.

You can find a factory manual .pdf to download for free at Buelltooth.com or Buellmods.com

Welcome in Mike, these are a fun bike on track. I do 2 to 3 track days a month on my 09 XB12R. For the last 3 1/2 yrs the bike bike has been stock with EBC GP pads in front and Dunlop slicks. That's going to change soon.
These bikes are pretty easy to work on. Mine has been totally reliable over the 3 1/2 yrs. Only a few minor things has come lose, shifter pivot ( now safety wired), rear axel pinch bolt fell out twice ( now gets duct tape covering over hole) and I couldn't keep the chin fairing from losing its screws , I even tried cable ties to no avail so now I just run without it. That's it. I've been very impressed with build quality compared to my tube framer.
Enjoy your track toy.

Thank you both for your input! I love having a factory service manual for all my machines!

I have just begun my teardown and review of the condition so I can prep for track days. I will post my questions as they come up.

Have a great day!

Mike

Mike what track are you gonna run out here ? I was looking at the one on camelback out near luke air force base. I was gonna head out there this winter. I think it's 190 for a day of racing
