I am a new rider and last weekend I laid my SS down for the first time.... I am fine physically but my pride is a little hurt...
I have an 09 XB12SS and it did pretty good with the fall. Mainly cosmetic damage the biggest things I see that need to be replaced are the right front fork, has a little dent in the shaft and is now leaking a little..., the left side of the frame has a dent where the frame puck was. There are no cracks and nothing leaking at all from the bike, and a dent in the header. The left tail section where the passenger foot peg bracket goes is a little cracked.. The tail section is strong enough to ride on, it just cracked around where the bracket bolts in. Other things that are damaged are bent handlebars, broken left foot pegs, broken gear shifter, both signal lights, the left side of the head light housing where the turn signal goes, and a couple of other plastics that are a little scratched up. But I am not really worried about those right now cause those can be fixed later. So my question to all is does anyone have any of those parts they are willing to part with/sell? Other than the foot peg and gear shit assembly I already ordered those.
Parts List: All blot on please!!
XB12SS Handle Bars (or something that works without anything extra needing to be done.)
Right Front Fork (Black- My bike is Black with the Translucent Cherry Bomb Red)
Left side Tail Section (same as above and or can be painted?)
Stock left side turn signals.
The Bike starts up fine and sounds ok to. The motor did not take a hit in the fall or at least I do not see any damage to the primary it self other than the broken gear shifter so I am thinking that it is ok. The only thing different that I can tell is that it will not start up while in 1st gear? I am almost 100% sure that it was before I fall but it is not now? Could it be the bent handle bars messing with something electrical? I can shift it with my hand and it feels normal, I do not have to fight it. When I ride (at least the little bit of riding I can do without a gear shifter, foot peg, and bent handle bars) it sounds and feels normal!? Still have all the power that it had before but I do not know why it wont start in 1sr gear!?
If you have any other parts for sale/like to get rid of just let me know. I am still on the market for a few things such as exhaust, rear finder eliminator, right side air scoop ext..... Thank you in Advanced
