So as some of you know myself and my father went in 50/50 on 08 Daytona 675 for track/street use. We had a little bet going where we would go to a track and who ever cut the fastest lap time basically go a free bike (loser pays for the Daytona). Well we decided that nether one of us was comfortable taking that much from each other so we settled on loser pays for the track day so nobody is crying at the end of the day. I should add that my dad was AFM California state champ for 2 years before I was born. So it was my first time on a track and only second time on the Daytona. Buttonwillow was the track chosen and I started in C-group/beginner and my dad was in A-group/expert. Well C-group was an absolute joke and the staff bumped me to B-group after the first session, even there I considerably faster than everybody in the group. I did a few sessions in B and then asked to be moved to A-group. My dad and I were sharing a bike so we took turns running in A group and B group. I was surprised that I could catch and even pass guys in A-group.

Soooooooo, long story short there was a 4 second gap between the two of us. Anyone care to guess who is out $300 with a hurt ego.

You know old guys have bad knees so once he gets one down he would have stayed down;)

Good pics! Don't want to possibly mess up the Buell this the Triumph?.

Well just got a e-mail from Dixie, broken left ankle, broken right hand and five stitches in his right thumb.

Yea, what really sucks is he needs his hands to work. He and my dad are both sound mechanics at Disney.

That 675 daytona is likely my next bike unless i hiot the lotto and can afford a 1190rs.
So did you hurt dads ego?

Yea I beat him, champ to chump LOL. Trust me we he did not let me win, this was the one thing he thought he could still take me at.

michelin pilot powers are great tires, but when being pushed hard they they don't show signs of breaking away.

Don't worry your Dad has obviously taught you well.So in a way he still won.He just made you work for it.We fathers all want our young ones to have it better than we did. You Will too, some day watch your children and a suttle smile will come over you.In the back of our heads is the Thought (about Damn time) There's nothing quite like it. Sure a little ego brusing is expected but not to worry theres other experiences around the corner. I cherish the 1st time my pap took me to get my 1st dirt bike.I was only 10 yrs old. Yeah I like my Track days & good tires are a must hope your friend is OK.~Jimi[smirk]
