Even with a freshly charged battery, the first crank on my bike was really low, then it would start to kick over. Did some investigating and the wires coming from the ignition switch looked suspicious. I pulled the lower half of the switch out by removing the two small Phillips screws and popped the cover off. Two wires had really crappy solder points, one wire had no sheathing on it had was half way soldered together, and the other wire looked corroded and about to break. Cut the crap solder job out, re-soldered the points and wires together and taped them up really well. Now it cranks over perfectly! I am having a charging system problem still though. Looked at all the connections of the stator and reg, looks fine. Did some testing and there's no draw on the battery while the bike is off. Actually I gain voltage and it climbs up a volt or two. But while the bike is running there's a constant .01 volt drop every 10 seconds. Dealership is replacing the entire charging system under warranty this next Monday. Should be as good as new!

Wow - good work. And really good to hear the dealership is holding up their end of the bargain...
