I love the way the fmf apex sounds but I've only seen people putting them on 1125R's & CR's...
So can I put it on my 09' 12R or is it only made for the 1125?

Thanks for the help!

This will sound better than the fmf apex on your 12.

That sounds Fantastic!!!! I'm sorry to ask again but do you possibly have any "drive-by" clips???
and i'll be talkin to the wife tonight, if she gives the go ahead then i'll sen my paypal info shortly...

d&d would be louder but it sounds tinny to me. I guess that's because there's no packing in them. Straight pipes would be louder as well.
I can use larger cores but it's a pita to pack them, it only leaves about 1/2" of space between the core and shell and the packing will not last as long. I can also make a set with louvered cores like the d&d pipe with no packing, but I haven't done any testing with a setup like that and make NO promises on performance if I did it. As is, it's a 10% gain at a minimum, proven out on several dynos.

Louder will eventually make you go deaf. I wear ear plugs all the time, even with the stock pipe when I had it on my 1125.

Ok... I figured I'd ask...
Also... I plan on lowering it a little bit (if I can figure out how)... But would there be enough clearance with your pipes after the bike is lowered???

Sorry for all the questions but I do appreciate it!

I'll get an exact measurement later, but I think it sits higher than stock, so there's a little more clearance with mine.

As far as ground clearance for you personally, it depends on your weight, how stiff the suspension is and how big the speed bumps are in your area. Anything's possible, it could drag, then again it might not.

Oh!!!! I just found it!!! I think it's the same pipe but its a video you made on YouTube "XB12 custom exhaust test"....
I LOVE THE WAY THAT ONE SOUNDS!!!! Now maybe it was louder because its in the garage but still... THAT is the sound I'm lookin for!!!!

And yea I understand, I'm in KS so it's not too bad so I can go pretty low with a soft suspension... And I'm pretty sure it'll be fine, in the video I just watched the bikes an scg and there's plenty of clearance...

Finally remembered to go check the clearance on this. The stock pipe measures approximately 4.75" in the center, top to bottom. Mine measures 3.75" from the top of the bracket to the lowest point on either side, so it sits a bit higher than stock, 1" more clearance. Not much chance of hitting it unless you're running over speed bumps at 30 mph or more.

If you're curb jumping and the suspension is soft, there's always that chance that you'd bottom out, but it will be tougher to do with mine.
