For those of who haven't purchased a right side scoop yet

well, it is't exactly 100 degrees here in MA yet, but when it was 60 out, the fan would come on EVERY time I stopped. Now, it is 70-80, and it hasn't come on yet. I haven't been in much stop & go traffic, so I can't speak for that, but I know it is definitely keeping the rear cylinder much cooler. This should also promote engine oil life, right?

I agree, the looks could definitely match up better with the right side, but I think it still looks better than no scoop. I'm not ready to spend $200+ on LeFox's, though if I was, it's definitely the best looking scoop when compared to the left-side. Just thought everyone as cheap as me could benefit from the info!

I live in Arizona and have mounted the right side scoop from Rob Crins at Pegasus. This is the scoop that "Le Fox" will direct you towards. Rob's operation is located in Europe. I would advise everyone that this product does help with cooling but MAY NOT fit well. My scoop had gaps off the frame from 1/8" to 1/4", for its entire lenth. Because of the recomendations and cost ($300 w/shipping), I had expected a part that would bolt on, with no mods neccessary. However, this was not the case. Rob and I traded emails for a few months but his remedies were not successful and in the end I decided that I need to cut my lossess. The emails were odd, at one point he eluded to making me another, then later stated that because all Buell XB frames were "...hand made", the scoops only fit some bikes well. He suggested that I start bending stuff, which I was not a fan of. I stopped trying afterwards.

This post is not meant to bad mouth anyone, but instead to just prepare others for an outcome unexpected.

The biggest change I noticed was the reduced heat on my right thigh.  It was downright uncomfortable prior to the scoop but now, I feel almost no heat from the motor at all...and the fan runs much less often!  Best $40 I've spent on my bike!!

Amen. That's the biggest thing I noticed too. Unless I'm stuck sitting in traffic for a while, my right leg is nowhere near as hot as it use to be.

If you haven't already ordered a right side scoop, what are you waiting for?

This is truly funny...

Not so long ago...installing a right side scoop was akin to blasphemy.

And yea, both my R and my S have them.
I bought the R and installed a fiberglas scoop when it was a "kick in the ribs", to Buell to do so..!

Welp, Galileo was shunned from society for stating the Sun was the center of the solar system, and look how that turned out! lol. still lovin' the scoop, and lovin' how I can hear the last couple turns of the motor when I shut her down, instead of the annoying whine of the fan. also becoming fond of the look. Most of the time I forget that it doesn't match up!
