I was finally able to take the new to me 12R out on a long ride today. I forgot how nice these bikes handle and ride in general. I had a 2004 12S a few years ago and have had a few other bikes since then including a Ducati S4R, Triumph bobber, and a Triumph Thruxton. Before the 12S, I had a bunch of other bikes including an R6, CBR 600, and a GSXR 750 (younger days).

I'm surprised how comfortable the 12R is. My wrists never got tired, my back felt fine (rare for me, lol), and the riding position is very comfortable for a sport bike.

Handling is intuitive, predictable, and smooth (I set the suspension for my weight based on the table in the manual and it is spot on).

The bike handles bumps like a Cadillac and it cruises as easily as it does ripping through the twisties.

Now I remember why I've always said my favorite of all of the bikes I've had was the Buell.

Sure, it makes some drive train noise and vibrates at low speeds and idle; but at speed, through the twisties, and ripping through the gears, it is amazingly good and the torque is giggling fun!

What a great motorcycle!

I second that motion ! :) I have been riding for nearly four decades, have riden and owned a number of bikes, own more than one bike now, and my '05 Firebolt XB12R is one of my very very favorite! I plan on keeping it for life!

Ditto, all of the above! In my early 50's and 6'2", and I find my XB12R fits me like a glove! Absolutely love the riding position.
