Found in my yard wednesday

A great horned owl apparently injured was resting in my yard yesterday, I was able to get him shooed into the woods so the dogs wouldn't harrass him/her, pics or it didn't happen

Thats pretty cool, are you sure it was injured? If so Id make a call to Animal Services. Im sure they could help it out.. Grounded Bird=Dead Bird

yeh, he was injured, the pic doesn't show but I was able to get a good view of him, his right wing was sort of dangling a little, after the pic was taken he went into the woods behind him, flying about a foot off the ground,

Poor thing! I've raised several great horned owls. They are by far the nicest birds I've ever seen. You need to find him and call your local animal rehabilitation center. The is a chance he was already a educational bird that got away.

WOW ! That's cool. All i ever find in my yard are cigarette butts ( i don't smoke ) and dog turds !

I had a mountain lion and her cub in the creek behind my house the other day, crazy how much is so close to us we normally never see.
