Anyone know where to get the frame paint for the XB besides AmericanSportBike? Would a dealer carry it? Is there a specific/common color that matches it that would be carried at an auto parts store?

I actually saw some touch up paint for the Buell frames at the HD shop a month or two ago so Im sure you could get ahold of it. Probably not ideal for painting big parts.

No, you would not want the touch up paint, and depending which brand they use you are going to have a hard time finding the code, could be 3M, PPG, keystone, there are several brands.

Ok, got it we use PPG at our shop, our computer reads that code as "Carbon Black" which is paint code DBC-9700-enjoy!!

well, if you are going to attempt to get it and do it on your own then you need to contact a auto body repair shop who shoots PPG and get the color, activator, clear, and hardener. PPG is a brand of paint, like dupont or 3M. You could probably buy it online but it might be better to walk into a car shop and just ask!! Let me know

Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG)

They're headquartered in Pittsburgh, cool building,(I went to school downtown)

Looks like a glass castle, makes for cool effects depending on time of day.

There ya go, little trivia for ya. Get the ladies ;)

i used a can from asb to paint my seat rails and tail piece. it matches the frame perfectly. it is not the same color as the swingarm fyi.

I used asb's factory graphite frame paint last year and it worked pretty good.

I'm the only one that knows it's there.
It doesn't have the shine that the factory powdercoat does

i sprayed clear over my seat rails and it gave it a nice shine. i just used a can of lacquer based clear as i think thats what the pain it.
